Health Connector members that are enrolled in a plan for January but have not yet paid for that coverage are considered delinquent. This may include individuals that lost access to premium tax credits or ConnectorCare coverage for Plan Year 2026 and are enrolled in unsubsidized Health Connector coverage for January.
How does the Health Connector delinquency and disenrollment process work?
If a member is enrolled in an unsubsidized plan and does not make a payment by January 23, 2026, their coverage will terminate retroactively to December 31, 2025. If they qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) at a future date, they would be able to come back into coverage with the Health Connector without being required to pay any previously past due premiums.
If a ConnectorCare member does not make a payment by January 23, 2026, they would be in a delinquent status. However, these members have a grace period of three months to continue their ConnectorCare enrollment prior to coverage termination for nonpayment.

- Example: An individual does not pay their January premium by December 23. In early January, they will receive a Past Due Warning notice indicating they are past due and must pay their past due balance for January and ongoing premium for February by January 23. If the individual does not pay by January 23, a Termination Warning Notice will be sent in early February indicating the member is delinquent for January and February and must pay the January, February, and March premiums by February 23. If the member does not pay by February 23, they will receive a second Termination Warning Notice in early March indicating all premiums for January, February, March, and April must be paid by March 23, or coverage will be terminated and the coverage end date will be January 31.
